Friends of Ightenhill Medical Centre: Patient Participation Group

We are pleased to launch our new patient group – Friends of Ightenhill Medical Centre Patient Participation Group.

Meetings will take place as follows:

  • TBC for 2026

The Purpose of the Group

  • To give patients and practice staff the opportunity to meet and discuss topics of mutual interest.
  • To provide a means for patients to become more involved and make suggestions about the healthcare services they receive.
  • To explore(anonymised) issues from patient complaints and patient surveys, contribute to action plans and help monitor improvements.
  • To contribute feedback to the practice on National Patient Survey results and Friends and Family Test feedback to propose developments and change.
  • To support health awareness and patient education and promote responsible and appropriate use of Primary Care Services.

If you would like to join our group, please call us on 01282 500 120 (we need to know numbers!) We will send you a pack of information to read before you join your first meeting.

Proposed Ground Rules for Meetings/Members

  • Start and finish on time, keep to the agenda
  • Inform the Practice Manager before meetings if you are unable to attend
  • Always be professional and courteous
  • Listen to each other with respect and without interruption, all views are valid.
  • Be open and honest in our communication, and challenge appropriately.
  • Be flexible, listen, and ask for help when necessary. (Support each other)
  • Not raise or discuss personal matters at the meeting.
  • Not to use membership/participation as a means of priority access.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to delivering results, as a group.
  • Maintain confidentiality and do not discuss any sensitive matters outside the meeting.
